Here am I trying to pack my stuff for the Christmas vacation to Chandigarh.....my family and I are spending it in Chandigarh after over ten years. It's been a long while since we took the AP Express to Delhi and it takes 26 hours or so. We've done this trip mostly by air in the last couple of years but ever since the airport shifted from Begumpet in the heart of Hyderabad to Shamsabad, a distance of 30 km away, we decided to take this train trip. Added to that is the fact that we are not travelling light! So now we just take 20 minutes to reach the railway station.
I'm thankful for the iPod which I must remember to charge so that I can take those long hours listening to pleasant things! I'm one of those not so social beings and can't fall into conversation with strangers easily, but will make some effort for a peaceable journey. Then, I must take some good reading material to keep me involved....though I could spend some time daydreaming.....I used to love doing that! It will be interesting to see what the others travelling with us are like and of course the vendors who come selling their wares in a stentorian voice are fascinating. Getting to New Delhi on a cold foggy morning will brace me up....I love the winters and in Hyderabad I miss the cold which I prefer to the sapping heat of summer. It will be great to meet with family and friends in Chandigarh and what better time than Christmas.
When I think of Jesus, leaving the glory of His Father's throne and coming down to earth, this shadowy substance, as compared to the glory of Heaven, I can't stop thanking Him. He made it possible for us to make our journey from this earth to the Father's throne of glory, from Bethlehem to Calvary, Jesus Christ is the only Way....there is no other way to heaven and there is no other name by which we receive salvation, either in heaven, or on earth except the Name of Jesus.
