“He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.”
Psalms 105:37 KJV
The psalmist is giving thanks to the almighty God for His mighty and wondrous works to the children of Israel. This was a shadow of what the Messiah was going to do on the Cross for all people. The children of Israel were slaves in Egypt for four hundred years, deprived, underprivileged and labouring without any wages. Before they departed from Egypt, Moses told them to take silver and gold from the Egyptians who willingly parted with it, making a great wealth transfer to the children of Israel. Moses also told them to kill the Passover lamb and apply the blood on the doorpost and lintels of their houses. The angel of death passed over those places and none of the children of Israel died, but the Egyptians’ firstborn did. They ate the roasted lamb and bitter herbs and left Egypt. For forty years they were in the wilderness and not one was sick or feeble. This is what Jesus did on the Cross. By His stripes, we are healed and by His shed Blood we are made whole, He became poor so we are made rich. Disease and poverty were removed on the Cross for those who believe in the finished work of the Cross. Worthy is the Lamb of God!
