“Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: Let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: As wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: Yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.”
Psalm 68:1-3 KJV
David’s psalm of triumph, “God! Arise with awesome power, and every one of Your enemies will scatter in fear! Chase them away—all these God-haters. Blow them away as a puff of smoke. Melt them away like wax in the fire. One good look at You and the wicked vanish. But let all the righteous be glad! Yes, let them all rejoice in Your presence and be carried away with gladness. Let them laugh and be radiant with joy!” When Christ rose from the dead with resurrection power, all His enemies were scattered! This is the Gospel, for the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but to us who are saved it is the power of God. The Lord Jesus Christ disarmed the powers and authorities, and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the Cross. Every enemy of the Cross has been scattered forever. We rejoice with exceeding great joy at the victory of the Cross. Hallelujah!
