Praising God in Dire Situations

“Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let thy glory be above all the earth. They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down: They have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.”

‭‭Psalm‬ 57:5-6 KJV

David wrote this psalm when he hid in a cave from Saul.  “Lord God, be exalted as You soar throughout the heavens. May Your shining glory be seen in the skies! Let it be seen high above over all the earth! For they have set a trap for me. Frantic fear has me overwhelmed. But look! The very trap they set for me has sprung shut upon themselves instead of me! Pause in His presence”.  To be able to praise God and worship Him in dire situations, was David’s unique gift, now given to all who believe and have been baptised by the Holy Spirit.  Churches today which praise and worship with a religious spirit of performance, are without the power of the mighty Holy Spirit and are unable to effectively witness for our Lord Jesus Christ.  This is what Jesus tells His disciples even today, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”  Let’s believe Jesus.  Amen!
