“For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.”
John 20:9 KJV
John the beloved disciple recorded, “For until then they hadn’t understood the Scriptures that prophesied that He was destined to rise from the dead.” Some believers are in that situation of not understanding Scripture because they don’t bother to meditate on the Word of God and can’t understand it. David prophesied, “Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.” Also, “For You will not leave My soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.” Isaiah’s famous prophecy, “Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.” Hosea prophesied, “After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight.” The disciples believed the Word. Today, we just have to believe in Christ’s finished work and have our personal encounter with the Word to experience the risen Christ daily. Amen!
