Relationships are Important to God

“I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And the right of the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: The upright shall dwell in thy presence.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭140‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

David wrote this psalm when he was hiding from king Saul.  “For I know, Lord, that You will be the hero of all those they persecute, and You will secure justice for the poor. Your godly ones will thank You no matter what happens. For they choose and cherish Your  Presence above everything else!”  We learn from David how to cope with jealousy, which is to turn to God and trust Him through the tough times, without the ill-will that results from it.  Our Lord had to face this too from the religious establishment.  Even Pilate knew that it was because of jealousy that the chief priests and elders had handed Jesus over to him.  Instead of allowing the negativity of being jealous, we can of our own free will turn it to being jealous for the Lord’s Presence.  That’s the godly jealousy that Paul talked about when he said “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.”  Instead of gossiping, denigrating, creating an ill-will scenario, or even being self-righteous, self-centred, proud, and inflating the ego, let’s change the negativity to building up people so that they too can enjoy God’s Presence like we do.  Relationships are important to God and we co-labour with Him to build people up to have a relationship with Him.  Amen!
