Giver of Hope to the Hopeless

“And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
The crisis of displaced migrant workers has affected us and when reading this Scripture, thought about Joseph & Mary on the way from Nazareth to Bethlehem. There were no roads like we have today so they walked or Mary sat on the donkey in an advanced stage of pregnancy, about to deliver any time.  There was no family help or someone to provide care...no roadside dhabas for food!  Asking for help in Bethlehem for the time of delivery and not finding it.  So stressful...and then having the baby in a stable!  Even going and paying tax and being counted in the census by the Romans - Joseph and Mary had it pretty tough.  Jesus identified with such a crisis from the time He came in the flesh.  Yet He brought peace and came to save.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He knows firsthand what it is to be in such a crisis.  May He bring hope to all such suffering people today even as we intercede on behalf of them.  Let’s pray that He reveals Himself to them.  He is the Only Giver of Hope - there is no other source.
