“I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.”
Hosea 13:14 KJV
Hosea is prophesying to unfaithful Israel and saying that Messiah God will ransom them from the power of the grave and from death and He will never repent or change His mind on this promise. Because of the new covenant Jesus made with all mankind, this promise is applicable to all of us who believe. However unfaithful we have been, God’s covenant stands firm and will never change. Moses was a murderer, so had Paul caused Jesus’s disciples to die, Peter had denied that Jesus is the Messiah even when he knew the truth, Abraham had lied, as had Isaac, and Jacob cheated! God was faithful to all of them. God accepts every person who is willing to accept Jesus’s sacrifice and takes the responsibility to transform contrite hearts. Let’s know the power of repentance towards God in our life, trusting the finished work of the Cross and the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Now the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing, that we may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
