Bless not Curse

“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭42:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Job’s friends came to support him during his trials but all they did was to give him their reasons as to why he was facing such distress.  They pointed to Job his shortcomings and faults.  They thought they were supporting Job by sitting with him and berating him. Job was so distressed that he wished they wouldn’t comfort him so.  But God’s ways are higher than man’s.  The principle here is to speak blessing, not cursing, over those who trouble and persecute you.  Jesus taught that when someone curses you, bless that person in return. When others mistreat and harass you, accept it as your mission to pray for them.  When Job prayed for his friends, God gave him twice as much.  When Jesus prayed for all mankind, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do”, God gave us the opportunity to become joint heirs with Christ simply through faith in what Jesus did on the Cross for us.  Let’s bless and not curse those that persecute the Church.  Hallelujah!
