“And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.”
Judges 7:13 KJV
Gideon was too fearful to fight with three hundred men against a hundred thirty five thousand Midianites, but God helped him to trust in Him. God told Gideon to go near the enemy’s camp. As soon as Gideon arrived, he heard an enemy soldier telling a friend about a dream. He was saying, “I had a dream of this huge commotion in our camp and then a round loaf of barley bread came whirling into our camp and levelled a tent, hitting it so hard it turned upside down, and the tent collapsed on the ground.” The barley loaf symbolised Israel’s army that invaded and conquered the Midianites. The Body of Christ is also that one loaf rolling down Mount Zion to destroy the tents of wickedness (the kingdoms of this world). Jesus multiplied five barley loaves and fed more than five thousand! The whirling barley loaf is a picture of Christ in us, Who multiplies His life and power in us His followers today because of the finished work of the Cross. Let’s believe in Him. Thank You Jesus!
