The Goodness of God in Not Sparing His Own Son

“In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him. And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.”

‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭24‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It was during his reign that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded the country. Jehoiakim became his puppet. But after three years he had had enough and revolted. God dispatched a succession of raiding bands against him to destroy Judah. Through the preaching of His servants and prophets, God had said He would do this, and now He was doing it.  The Lord works everything together to accomplish His purpose. Even the wicked are included in His  plans— He sets them aside for the day of disaster.  We know that God’s purposes are good as we consider the injustice of wicked people crucifying Jesus on the Cross so that all mankind would come out of evil.  For God has proved His love by giving us His greatest treasure, the gift of His Son. And since God freely offered Him up as the sacrifice for us all, He certainly won’t withhold from us anything else He has to give.  Amen!
