“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
Acts 4:31 KJV
As they prayed the earth shook beneath them, causing the building they were in to tremble. Each one of them was filled with the Holy Spirit, and they proclaimed the word of God with unrestrained boldness. There was an earthquake when they prayed together. The prayer of the united believers involved more than confidence, it was unrestrained boldness. As they spoke the Word, it was free-flowing, everything that was in their mind, from their heart with confidence. They spoke frankly and honestly, hiding nothing, and speaking directly to the heart. It was not the tailored speech of public speaking that makes everyone happy, but it was the courage to speak the truth, whatever it may cost. This was the true freedom of speech that came from the Holy Spirit Who filled the believers with power. This is what Jesus had said of the Holy Spirit, “But when the Helper comes, Whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth Who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me, and also will bear witness, because you have been with Me”. Let us not quench the power of the Holy Spirit through us. Amen!
