“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”
James 1:21 KJV
It’s worth noting that to save our souls, it is only the Word of God that can be engrafted in us when received with meekness. To trivialise the Word in any form, even in humour, is the way not to receive with meekness. Meekness is submitting. When we submit to the Word of God, it means we are receiving it with meekness. Submitting means to quietly and with trust, obey and do what the Word of God says. Not to justify ourselves, nor to argue or discuss it....just quietly being a doer of the Word.
The Word was meek to become flesh & dwell among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace & truth. He humbled Himself to become obedient even unto death so that God has highly exalted Him & given Him a Name above every name. He has given us His Word to receive it with meekness and be engrafted in us. Glory to Jesus!
