New Covenant of Grace

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭8:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is the only reason that Jesus was judged on mankind’s behalf so that the just and righteous God would demonstrate His mercy to mankind and forgive us our evil deeds, and never remember again our sins. This proves that by establishing this new covenant the first is now obsolete, ready to expire, and about to disappear.  Through God’s just and perfect way, Jesus bore the punishment for all of us and established the new covenant of grace.  The finished work of Christ through the Cross is all that is required.  Mankind’s part is to put faith in the Blood sacrifice of the Lamb of God.  As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.  So great is His mercy.  Thank You for the New Covenant of Grace, Lord Jesus, merciful and mighty, Hallelujah!

Our Judgment on Christ

“Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭88:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This prophetic psalm speaks of the Messiah taking the wrath of God in place of all humanity.  He cries that He feels God’s wrath, and it’s a heavy weight upon Him, drowning Him beneath a sea of sorrow.  Every sin, iniquity, transgression, sickness, disease, oppression, lack, curse, everything wrong known to mankind, was laid upon Him.  Let’s pause and think about it, the punishment due to us was laid upon Jesus on the Cross.  It became dark for three hours as Jesus took it all upon Him as the Son of Man, wave upon wave upon wave.  Till at last He cried with a loud voice, “Father, into Thy Hands I commend My Spirit”.  Let’s bow down and worship the Lamb of God, worthy is He!  Amen!

Honour Your Parents

“When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.”

‭‭John‬ ‭19:26-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When Jesus had left home and started preaching, teaching, healing and delivering, crowds followed Him.  His mother and brothers came looking for Him and it was told Him.  Jesus then said that His mother, brothers and sisters are those who do the will of God.  Here amidst His suffering and accomplishing the will of God, Jesus deeply honoured His mother.  Other disciples were not there at the foot of the Cross except John, the beloved disciple of Jesus.  Love doesn’t run away when we suffer in any way.  Jesus told John to love Mary as a mother and He told Mary to love John as her son.  John took Mary to care for her till her earthly life was over from that moment on.  Let’s honour our parents as Jesus showed us, for all will go well with us, Scripture promises.  Thank You Father for helping us honour our parents.  Amen!

The Righteous flourish like the Palm Tree

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭92:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Palm branches were voluntarily taken by those following Jesus as they cried, “Hosanna, Blessed is the King of Israel Who comes in the Name of the Lord!”  Palm trees speak of uprightness and righteousness of those growing in victory, standing in strength.  Those who know that they are righteous only in Christ, are the upright.  They don’t allow the storms of life to uproot them as they are rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus.  Like the palm they are fruitful because they abide in Christ.  It is a beautiful tree and its beauty satisfies the thirsty and hungry who come across an oasis of palm trees in the desert.  The palm tree grows determinedly straight even when it has much weight on it.  It is nothing much to look at on the lower level but its beauty is seen at the top.  Through the finished work of the Cross we have received the gift of righteousness to flourish like the palm tree in the Presence of the Lord Who lives in us.  Let’s be righteous in Christ and worship Him in the beauty of His holiness!  Hosanna in the Highest!

Christ Died for the Ungodly

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Many think that Jesus is a Christian God and He died only for the Christians.  This is a lie.  The truth is that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!  We don’t have to become good by ourselves to be accepted by Christ.  We have only to believe that He died in our place to rise again and give us life - the eternal, everlasting life.  Eternal life means to know and experience God as the only true God, and to know and experience Jesus Christ, as the Son whom God sent.  Let’s only believe!  Thank You Jesus for dying for us while we were still ungodly.  Amen!

Our Judgment on Christ

“I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭50:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah is so vivid.  Jesus submitted Himself to such a judgment where He offered His back to those who flogged Him, and His cheek to those who tore out His beard.  He never hid His face from demeaning insults or from those who spit on Him.  But God empowered Christ so He was not humiliated, and with holy determination He accomplished God’s will without being ashamed.  Christ Himself carried our sins in His body on the Cross so that we would be dead to sin and live for righteousness. Our instant healing flowed from His wounding.  Knowing that by His stripes we are healed, let’s walk in divine health believing that our every sickness has been nailed to the Cross.  Let’s enjoy the abundant life the Messiah died to give us.  Thank You Jesus!

Glory Revealed in Us

“But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Peter witnessed the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus so he was convinced to say that he continued to rejoice, for those who believe in Christ, have shared in the sufferings of the Anointed One so that they can share in the revelation of His glory and celebrate with even greater gladness! Even today, if we are insulted because of the Name of Christ, we  are greatly blessed, because the Spirit of glory and power, who is the Spirit of God, rests upon us.  Let’s believe in the power of the mighty Holy Spirit as He leads us through suffering into righteousness, peace and joy, into the glory being revealed in and through us.  That’s the power God has given us as children of the Most High.  Hallelujah!

Christ our Substitute

“And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The ram caught in the thicket is a picture of Christ being caught in the thicket of our sins, our Substitute as the ram was for Isaac.  Abraham had seen Jesus as our Substitute because Jesus had said to those who questioned him, that “your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day: and he saw it, and was glad.”  Abraham looked to the future by faith and saw the Cross, we see the Cross into the past by faith to know Christ as our Substitute.  Let’s be glad and rejoice that we have become righteous through Christ because He became sin, Who knew no sin.  Thank You Jesus for being our Substitute.  Amen!

Communion

“He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”

‭‭John‬ ‭6:56‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus had fed the five thousand men with five loaves and two fish, the people wanted to take Him forcefully and make Him a king, so He went up the mountain and the crowds couldn’t reach Him.  The disciples waited and then got into a boat and went to Capernaum.  A storm came as the disciples struggled and they saw Jesus walking on the stormy water.  Frightened they were reassured by Jesus and He got into the boat and they reached Capernaum.  Again the crowds came to take Jesus by force and He told them that He is the Bread of Life, and said that the one who eats His Body and drinks His Blood lives in Him and He lives in that one.  Many disciples couldn’t take this simple truth and left following Him.  Jesus showed through the New Covenant that He instituted at His last meal with His close disciples that His Body is meat indeed and His Blood is drink indeed.  He asked His disciples to remember His death as often as they could.  The early church continued daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.  Every day people were added to the Kingdom of God.  Let’s walk in the power and communion with Jesus so that others can see Jesus in us and come into the Kingdom.  Hallelujah!

Atonement

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭17:11‬ ‭KJV

The blood carries the life of mankind for the life of the body is in its blood. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible as  God has given Jesus’s Blood on the altar to purify life.  Our altar is the Cross where we make the divine exchange of receiving Jesus’s Blood to atone for our sins.  No one in the world is without sin.  All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But all mankind has been redeemed with the precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.  Let’s receive this atonement which makes us forever righteous with the forever gratitude in our hearts.  Thank You Jesus for Your Atonement for us!

Jesus Tasted Death for Everyone

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is hard to imagine, even when it happened, that we see Jesus, who as a Man, lived for a short time lower than the angels and has now been crowned with glorious honor because of what He suffered in His death. For it was by God’s grace that He experienced death’s bitterness on behalf of everyone!  So when this corruptible body shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal body shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Hallelujah!

He Hears Us

“And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.”

‭‭Jonah‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus said before His suffering that just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish for three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.  Every step of the way that Jesus took was prophesied by the prophets from before.  He fulfilled everything about Him in the Scriptures.  Christ identifies with every hellish situation we face and hears us.  When we call upon Jesus’s Name, we are saved from every evil situation. This is our testimony: when we cried to Jesus in our distress, He answered us.  He freed us from all our fears!  Let’s not lean to our own understanding but trust Jesus in all our ways.  Thank You Jesus!

Enter into Christ’s Glory

“Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:26-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The risen Christ Himself explained to His disciples how it was necessary for the Messiah to experience all these sufferings and afterward to enter into His glory, and beginning with Moses and all the prophets He  carefully unveiled to them the revelation of Himself throughout the Scriptures.  Let’s wait on Christ to Himself give revelation to us as the veil is removed from us, to know His suffering on the Cross and the glory He entered into when He conquered sin, death and hell on mankind’s behalf.  Unless we receive revelation from the Scriptures of Christ’s sufferings, we won’t see His glory.  Let’s identify with Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection to walk in the glory He won for us.  Christ in us the hope of glory!  Hallelujah!

Our Salvation

“As many were astonished at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭52:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The prophecy of Jesus on the Cross by Isaiah, pictures Jesus as so brutally beaten that the onlookers were appalled at the sight of Him.  He no longer looked like a man, so marred was His appearance, like an object of horror.  This is the unparalleled suffering of our Salvation Who died for us.  This Salvation was the focus of the prophets who prophesied of this outpouring of grace that was destined for us. They made a careful search and investigation of the meaning of their God-given prophecies as they probed into the mysteries of Who would fulfill them and the time period when it would all take place. The Spirit of the Anointed One was in them and was pointing prophetically to the sufferings that Christ was destined to suffer and the glories that would be released afterward.  These glories were to be released on all who believed in the finished work of the Cross.  Our part is to only believe what Christ did for each one of us.  Let’s only believe!  Amen!

Learning Obedience

“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Even the Son of God had to learn obedience.  Though Jesus was a wonderful Son, He learned to listen and obey through all His sufferings.  Through Christ’s sufferings we learn to mortify the deeds of our flesh by the Holy Spirit and being led by the Spirit, to be sons of God.  We are crucified with Christ - still it is not us but Christ lives in us - and the life which we now live in the flesh we live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself  for us.  Let’s be obedient to put to death the deeds of the  flesh and put on the Lord Jesus Christ.  Thank You Jesus, for giving us Your faith to live by.  Amen!

Prophesy God’s Word

“Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:”

‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭37:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Ezekiel prophesied in captivity in Babylon and here he prophesied to the dry bones the word of God and through the breath of God these bones came alive.  God said through Ezekiel that these dead bones are Israel which shall become a nation once again. The history of no other nation has called a dispersed ethnic group to come together as a nation and have its own revived language once again, the language of the Old Testament of the Bible.  It is a miracle.  Today in the new covenant through the sacrifice of Jesus, God has given us, non Jews the gift of the Bible and to speak and prophesy the Word of God to make the dead bones in our circumstances to come alive with the Breath of God.  He proved it by choosing us who were dead in our sins, from the beginning for salvation through the Spirit, Who set us apart for holiness, and through our belief in the truth of the Word of God.  Let’s prophesy the Word of God and let the Holy Spirit bring dead situations alive.  Thank You Holy Spirit!

The Just died for the Unjust

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;”

1 Peter‬ ‭3:18-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Christ suffered and died for sins once and for all—the innocent for the guilty —to bring us near to God by His body being put to death and by being raised to life by the Spirit. He went in the spiritual realm and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison.  The question of ancestors who never had the opportunity to hear the Gospel is settled once and for all by Christ going and preaching to the spirits in prison.  Those who died without hearing the Gospel were proclaimed the Gospel by the Gospel Himself!  What amazing love for humanity! What grace that Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!  Let’s bow before Him and worship Him for worthy is the Lamb of God! Hallelujah!

At the Name of Jesus

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.”

‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭9:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Everything that Jesus did was to fulfill scripture that had been prophesied hundreds of years earlier.  Zechariah returned from exile in Babylon to Jerusalem and was a prophet with a priestly background.  He encouraged the Jews to rebuild the second Temple and also to prophecy the coming of the Messiah.  Here the prophet says to behold the Messiah as King riding upon a colt, the foal of an ass.  The King came not to wage war against His people but to give Himself as a sacrifice to take away the sin of the world.  God came as a Man by humbling Himself, and becoming obedient to death, even the death of the cross.  That’s why God has highly exalted Jesus, and given Him a Name  which is above every name, that at the Name  of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, that every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father!  Hosanna in the Highest!

Fulness of God

“And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Until we know by experience the love of Christ, which is beyond the knowledge of the mind, we will not be filled with the fulness of God.  This extravagant love God pours into our hearts until we are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!  This is the heart love, not the head love!  Let’s yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, Who alone sheds abroad the love of God in our hearts.  The Lord Jesus made it possible for the Holy Spirit to do so by His death on the Cross.  Such love is beyond our comprehension but is poured in our hearts when we choose to believe in the personal love of Jesus for each one of us through the Cross.  Hallelujah to the Lamb!

Full & Long Life Satisfaction

“He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

How many times we may have recited this psalm especially when we’re sick or in trouble.   But as we think deeper, God is saying, “I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will feel My Presence in your time of trouble. I will deliver you and bring you honor. I will satisfy you with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”  How lavish is that!  Jesus took all our troubles, sicknesses, diseases, sins and humiliations on the Cross and nailed everything that was contrary to us, so we could pray and call on Him and He would answer us.  His Presence would be in our troubles and He would deliver us, and bring us honour.  He would fully satisfy us and enable us to see Him - Jesus, our Salvation!  Let’s believe this with all our heart!  Hallelujah!

Trusting in True Riches

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;”

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In the culture we live in, we are trusting in the riches of this world and the technology of the digital smartphone!  God is speaking to all the rich of this world, commanding them not to be wrapped in thoughts of pride over their prosperity, or rely on their wealth, for their riches are unreliable and nothing compared to the living God. Let’s trust instead in the One who lavishes upon us all good things, fulfilling our every need - Jesus Christ!  We have been saved for the Kingdom of God.  Let’s trust in the true riches, Jesus died to give us and seek His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all things will be added to us.  True riches are to humble ourselves and trust completely the Lord Jesus Christ!  Amen!

A Merry Heart

“All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It depends on how you look at life.  When you choose to be cheerful, every day will bring you more and more joy and fullness, but everything seems to go wrong when you feel weak and depressed.  Let’s choose to believe Jesus when He said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”, so that we may boldly say, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me.”  Jesus through the Cross has set before us life and death, blessing and cursing.  Let’s therefore choose life, that we and our children may live.  Let’s choose the joy of the Lord to be our strength!

Unity of the Spirit

“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Lord Jesus Christ through His Blood sacrifice, enabled the Church to come to the unity of the Spirit.  He calls us to be faithful to guard the sweet harmony of the Holy Spirit among us in the bonds of peace, being one body and one spirit, being called into the same glorious hope of divine destiny.  We, the Church, cannot be out of sync with the Holy Spirit.  As we cooperate with the Holy Spirit and the Word, with humility, meekness, patience and love, the mighty power of the Holy Spirit is released through the Church.  Let’s endeavour to keep this amazing unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace as we agree with the Word and pray for one another.  Let’s allow the mighty Holy Spirit to manifest in our body the good things the Blood is speaking for us.  Amen!

A Woman Judge

“And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth–el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.”

‭‭Judges‬ ‭4:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

A woman to judge the children of Israel, was Deborah, the judge before Gideon.  God doesn’t consider the gender of a person to accomplish His will, He chooses a willing heart.  The story of Deborah encourages us to know that it is not our capability but God’s ability.  God can do the impossible!  Deborah accompanied Barak to the battlefield because she prophesied that Israel would win the battle against the Canaanite king but Barak was fearful.  To encourage Barak she went and as she had prophesied, the battle was won by Israel.  Let’s not be those who scorn prophecies, but be faithful to examine them by putting them to the test, and afterward hold tightly to what has proven to be right.  Let’s be available to God to be used of Him, like Deborah, because Christ made it possible through the Cross for us who were far away to become His family!  For this cause let’s bow our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of Whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named! Amen!

Amazing Revelation

“The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.”

‭‭John‬ ‭4:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Amazing that the Messiah would reveal Himself to a woman, a socially outcast woman at that!  She was confused at what this Man was saying to her!  The woman said, “...but I do know that the Anointed One is coming—the true Messiah. And when He comes, He will tell us everything we need to know.” Jesus said to her, “You don’t have to wait any longer, the Anointed One is here speaking with you—I am the One you’re looking for.”  This unnamed woman ran to the very people in her city who held her askance and told them of the Messiah.  They came to listen to Him and many believed in Christ.  The joy and the excitement that comes to those who believe in the Christ, even today, is unparalleled!  It transcends every inhibition and enables us to enjoy the Kingdom of God and bring heaven on earth!  Let’s enjoy knowing the Messiah and telling others of the good things He does, so that others believe.  Thanks be to God for His astonishing gift of extraordinary grace!

Gospel Declaring Women

“The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭68:11-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In this psalm David saw prophetically of Jesus arising from the dead and His enemies being scattered!  It was written in a time of women being in the  home and men going to war but it was prophetically for a time when there would be neither any nationality or ethnicity, neither bond nor free, and neither male nor female: for all would be one in Christ Jesus.  God Almighty declares the Word of the Gospel with power, and the warring women of Zion deliver its message: “The conquering legions have themselves been conquered. Look at them flee!” Now Zion’s women are left to gather the spoils.  Women are being used by God to declare the Gospel with power along with men and children.  We are already living in such times.  Let’s look at the Gospel - Jesus Christ - rather than the gender!   Let’s be Gospel carriers!  Amen!

Remission of Sins

“Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is satisfied in His justice, not by our trying to fix our sins or our good deeds or karma, but only  through the Blood of Jesus in place of our sins.  Jesus’s destiny from God was to be the Sacrifice to take away sins, and now He is our Mercy Seat because of His death on the Cross. We come to Him for mercy, for God has made a provision for us to be forgiven by faith in the sacred Blood of Jesus. This is the perfect demonstration of God’s justice, because until now, He had been so patient—holding back His justice out of His tolerance for us. So He covered over the sins of those who lived prior to Jesus’s Sacrifice.  Let us therefore come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.  Only by the Blood of Jesus!  Hallelujah!

Prosperity & Good Success

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭KJV

Isn’t it quite odd that God gives such an instruction to Joshua, who has to conquer with military strength the land promised to the children of Israel?  One would imagine that God would get Joshua to be empowered with Samson like strength!  Instead God says to study the Word of God  continually and to meditate on it day and night so Joshua will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will he prosper and succeed in all he does.  Joshua had success indeed!  Jesus, Who is the Word of God, was nailed to the Cross only to rise again so that the Word of God would reach to all of us non-Jews.  As we study Jesus and meditate on the Cross day and night and do what the Word of God says, we will prosper and have success.  Let’s spend our time wisely by doing this so we are a good testimony of Who Jesus is in us!  Amen!

Purpose & Grace

“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is a marvellous revelation God gave Paul for Timothy and for us who are in Christ!  He gave us resurrection life and drew us to Himself by His holy calling on our lives. And it wasn’t because of any good we have done, but by His divine pleasure and awesome grace that confirmed our union with the anointed Jesus, even before time began!  Jesus gives us His purpose for our lives and then His grace - the empowerment to fulfil His purpose!  God’s  purpose for which we were to fulfil was established before time began!  What a great and glorious God.  Just like He did for Paul and Timothy, so has He established our purpose and given us His grace and anointing to fulfil it.  Let’s believe our Wonderful Counsellor!  We bow before You, Father, in humble adoration!

Christ our Defender & Champion

“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

David, in the midst of troubles is able to declare with confidence that God alone is his safe place and God’s Presence always protects David  as his Champion Defender. There’s no risk of failure with God!  David reasons as to why he would let worry paralyze him, even when troubles multiply around him.  The discipline of worshipping God in times of trouble gave David the sobriquet of ‘the man after God’s heart’!  Through Jesus taking all our griefs, sorrows, transgressions, iniquities, worries, troubles, sicknesses on the Cross, let our expectation only be from Him.  We tend to stress by trying to depend on our own resources and even our prayers but thank God that our earnest expectation and hope may always be in Christ and that in nothing shall we be ashamed.  Let’s be bold to worship the Lord Jesus for He alone is worthy!  Christ alone is our Champion and Defender!  Hallelujah!

Joint Heirs

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul’s revelation to the Church by the Holy Spirit brings us hope which is the confident expectation of God’s amazing goodness to us.  We become the children of God when we believe in and receive the Lord Jesus Christ in us, and then are led by the Holy Spirit.  Only through the Holy Spirit do we call God our Father.  Since we are His true children, we qualify to share all His treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God Himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that He is and all that He has. We will experience being co-glorified with Him provided that we accept His sufferings as our own.  This is the power of the Gospel of Christ to the salvation of all who believe.  Let’s not be ashamed to declare this glorious Gospel which has made us joint heirs with Christ by faith in the finished work of the Cross.  Hallelujah!
