“He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”
John 6:56 KJV
Jesus had fed the five thousand men with five loaves and two fish, the people wanted to take Him forcefully and make Him a king, so He went up the mountain and the crowds couldn’t reach Him. The disciples waited and then got into a boat and went to Capernaum. A storm came as the disciples struggled and they saw Jesus walking on the stormy water. Frightened they were reassured by Jesus and He got into the boat and they reached Capernaum. Again the crowds came to take Jesus by force and He told them that He is the Bread of Life, and said that the one who eats His Body and drinks His Blood lives in Him and He lives in that one. Many disciples couldn’t take this simple truth and left following Him. Jesus showed through the New Covenant that He instituted at His last meal with His close disciples that His Body is meat indeed and His Blood is drink indeed. He asked His disciples to remember His death as often as they could. The early church continued daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart. Every day people were added to the Kingdom of God. Let’s walk in the power and communion with Jesus so that others can see Jesus in us and come into the Kingdom. Hallelujah!
