”Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, And I will sing praises unto thy name. He is the tower of salvation for his king: And sheweth mercy to his anointed, Unto David, and to his seed for evermore.“
2 Samuel 22:50-51 KJV
That’s why I’m thanking you, God, all over the world. That’s why I’m singing songs that rhyme your name. God’s king takes the trophy; God’s chosen is beloved. I mean David and all his children— always. David wrote this psalm when he was surrounded by enemies and God set things right for him and shut up the people who talked back. He rescued David from enemy anger. God pulled him from the grip of upstarts and saved him from the bullies. God was his salvation because David trusted in Him. In the new covenant when our enemy is sent into eternal damnation, all in God’s Presence sing, Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power are God’s— His judgments true, His judgments just. This is the forever song of worship of those in whom God has set eternity in our hearts, washed by the Blood of the Lamb. Let’s have a lifestyle of worship to our God from now and forever to Whom belongs salvation, glory, honour and power. Hallelujah!
