“For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
Leviticus 11:44 KJV
God explicitly spoke to Moses and Aaron about foods that were permitted and forbidden, being connected to the ceremonial cleanliness or uncleanness. The children of Israel had to follow these laws to walk in health and cleanliness. In Christ, this ceremonial aspect is totally ruled out as God has declared everything clean when Jesus fulfilled and abolished the law in the new covenant. Life in Christ is the most liberated life on earth and we can eat anything and still be holy and clean before God. The Holy Spirit God, has liberated us the children of God, as we take His leading and guidance, even in our eating habits and we will be strong and healthy. God cares for us in every detail of our life. Paul told Timothy to no longer drink only water, but use a little wine for his stomach’s sake and his frequent infirmities. This is wrongly argued by many that God allows drunkenness! God clearly says, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”. It is God’s will that we may prosper in all things and be in health, just as our soul prospers cleansed by the water of the Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit! Amen!
