Continuous Clinging to Christ in the New Covenant

”And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.“

‭‭Ruth‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When they heard Naomi’s words to go back to their homes, Orpah and Ruth wailed and sobbed again.  Then Orpah embraced and kissed her mother in law goodbye and went back home, but Ruth clung tightly to Naomi and refused to let go of her.  Ruth clung to Naomi as a covenantal devotion, whereas Orpah went back to Moab, living and dying there.  Naomi is a type of Israel and the gentle Ruth is a type of the Church.  Ruth stayed connected to Naomi who led her to Boaz, a type of our Kinsman Redeemer, Jesus.  Ruth the Moabitess,  typified the gentile believers in Christ.  We cleave and cling to the new covenant He made with us and He is our Kinsman Redeemer.  Jesus said in His last meal with His disciples, “This cup seals the new covenant with my blood. Drink it—and whenever you drink this, do it to remember me.”  We cling to Him in the new covenant and receive every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ.  Hallelujah!
