Jesus Conquered Sin, Death & Hell

“When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.”

‭‭John‬ ‭11:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

John wrote this Gospel at the end of the century.  Here Jesus replies to the news that Lazarus is sick by saying that Lazarus’s sickness is not to face death but to face the glory of God triumphing over and above death!  And the Son of God be glorified because of that.  Indeed Jesus loved Martha, her sister and Lazarus.  After He heard of Lazarus’s sickness, Jesus did not go immediately but remained where He was for another two days.  In His deliberate delay here, Jesus’s focus was on His mission - knowing that soon He would enter mankind’s death, disengage the gates of Hades and be raised on the third day.  For when John was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, Jesus told him, ““I Am He Who lives and was dead; and, behold, I Am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”  We worship the Living God Who conquered sin, death and hell.  Hallelujah!
