“Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:”
Romans 15:5 KJV
Now may God, the source of great endurance and comfort, grace you with unity among yourselves, which flows from your relationship with Jesus, the Anointed One. Paul explains that in the Body of Christ, we may value one another equally in Jesus, our Messiah. God’s patience and reflection of who we really are transmits in us like-mindedness toward one another according to the pattern of Christ Jesus. Too often in Church and among believers, there is back-biting and critical condemnation, which is definitely not according to our Lord Jesus. Or else, we have people-pleasers who desire the acceptance of other people rather than being God-pleasers who choose to obey His Word above all else. Jesus always encouraged the weak in faith to believe and receive. The ones He rebuked were those who were self righteous and hardened of heart, desiring the admiration of others. In our relationship with our Lord, let’s learn to receive the love of Christ for our own personal selves and then to show that love to others, being like-minded with others just as Christ is. Amen!
