“I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: that ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:”
Romans 16:1-3 KJV
Paul writes, “Now, let me introduce to you our dear and beloved sister in the faith, Phoebe, a shining minister of the church in Cenchrea. I am sending her with this letter and ask that you shower her with your hospitality when she arrives. Embrace her with honor, as is fitting for one who belongs to the Lord and is set apart for Him. So provide her whatever she may need, for she’s been a great leader and champion for many—I know, for she’s been that for even me! Give my love to Prisca and Aquila, my partners in ministry serving the Anointed One, Jesus”. Phoebe was considered a leader of a high position in the Church and she carried this important letter containing the wealth of our faith in God. Priscilla and Aquila originally came from Rome and they returned here to strengthen the Church with a strong team of believers to scatter several home-fellowships throughout the city. Paul asks for warm hospitality and practical help from the Church in Rome for Phoebe, Priscilla and Aquila. Thank God for the Body of Christ that helps one another. Amen!
