“The LORD is high above all nations, And his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!”
Psalm 113:4-6 KJV
This psalm sung at Passover is attributed to Moses traditionally sung before the Passover meal. “For He rules on high over the nations with a glory that outshines even the heavens. No one can be compared to God, enthroned on high! He stoops down to look upon the sky and the earth.” Passover began when God stooped down and released the slavery of the children of Israel from the nation of Egypt. God is much bigger than our imagination can conceive and yet He knows everything about every human being from the first to the last! Yet He humbled Himself to come in the flesh and identify with humanity. All heaven bows before Him and so will every nation. As the psalmist said, “For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. He will subdue the peoples under us, And the nations under our feet. God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.” Let’s bow in worship to our God and the Lamb upon the Throne. Amen!
