Loving Even When Betrayed

”Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do. And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father's concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.“

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Then Absalom spoke to Ahithophel, “Are you ready to give counsel? What do we do next?” Ahithophel told Absalom, “Go and sleep with your father’s concubines, the ones he left to tend to the palace. Everyone will hear that you have openly disgraced your father, and the morale of everyone on your side will be strengthened.”  Ahithophel was a trusted counsellor to king David.  David wrote in his anguish, ”For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. Nor is it one who hates me..but it was you, a man my equal, My companion and my acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together..he has broken his covenant.“ Jesus knew the betrayal of a close friend, yet continued to love Judas.  It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.  The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, in the new covenant, for all who believe in the Blood Sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  We win every time we obey Him.  Amen!
