”And David comforted Bath-sheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him. And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.“

David went and comforted his wife Bathsheba. And when he slept with her, they conceived a son. When he was born they named him Solomon. God had a special love for him and sent word by Nathan the prophet that God wanted him named Jedidiah (God’s Beloved). David comforted himself by worshipping Yahweh, after the loss of his first son with Bathsheba, and God gave him and Bathsheba another son. David named the baby Solomon, meaning ‘peace’ and God named him ‘beloved’. The Lord Jesus Christ is “peace” when He said, ”Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.” Also, God called Jesus, “This is My beloved Son..”. We who are in Christ, and have Christ in us through faith, are God’s beloved and have His peace in us, whatever our situation may be. Amen!
