Power in Christ’s Love Makes Us Victorious

”And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.“

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭10‬:‭19 KJV

The Ammonites took the help of the Syrians to defeat Israel but they just couldn’t, inspite of the weaponry and the numbers of their army which were more than David’s army.  When all the kings who were vassals of Hadadezer saw that they had been routed by Israel, they made peace and became Israel’s vassals. The Arameans were afraid to help the Ammonites ever again.  David knew that as long as he sought the LORD, he would be victorious.  In the new covenant, through Jesus Christ, our LORD, we are called to be victorious through the power of the love of God.  With God on our side like this, how can we lose? Who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love? No way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, nor the worst sins.  None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us.  Nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus has embraced us.  It is this power in Christ that gives us the victory to be more than conquerors.  Amen!
