Live Violently, Die Violently

“And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal. And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king's house: and there was she slain.”

‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬, ‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Athaliah was the mother of Ahaziah. When she saw that her son was dead, she took over. She began by massacring the entire royal family. So they dragged her out to the palace’s horse corral; there they killed her.  Those who come into power through violent means, will have a violent end to their life. Jesus said this when He was being arrested and one of His disciples pulled a dagger out to kill, “Put your dagger away. For all those who embrace violence will die by violence.” That is why we have the power of God’s love that overcomes every work of the enemy who works through our flesh.  Now the works of the flesh are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like.  For if we live according to the flesh we will die; but if by the Spirit we put to death the works of the flesh, we will live.  Thank God that Jesus, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil in our flesh, in the finished work of the Cross.  Hallelujah!
