The Sacred Blood of the Lamb of God

“And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.”

‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Joash king of Judah countered by gathering up all the sacred memorials—gifts dedicated for holy use, along with the holy memorials he himself had received, plus all the gold that he could find and gave to Hazael.  Appeased, Hazael went on his way and didn’t bother Jerusalem.  Joash compromised with the sacred things of God for his safety, profaning that which was holy.  Eventually Joash’s own servants killed him.  In the new covenant, Jesus’s Blood is the most holy and sacred.  When the Messiah arrived, High Priest of the superior things of this new covenant, He came to the true Holy Place, bypassing the goat and calf blood sacrifices, instead using His own Blood as the price to set us free once and for all. The Blood of Christ cleans up our whole lives, inside and out. Through the Spirit, Christ offered Himself as an unblemished Sacrifice, freeing us from all those dead-end efforts to make ourselves respectable, so that we can live all out for God.  Thank You Jesus!
