“And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.”
Numbers 11:1 KJV
God’s consuming fire burned against the complaining Israelites and killed many. But for Moses’ intercession, all would have been burned alive. Complaining is very serious to God and it comes from the fallen nature which constantly complains, grumbles, moans and groans about everything. Thank God we are a new creation in Christ and have Christ’s nature now where there is only thankfulness and contentment. Complaining displeases God and corrodes our new life in Christ. Complaining despises God and is a direct insult to our caring, loving and compassionate Father in heaven. Complaining depresses the servants of God and causes them into complaining themselves instead of guarding their own hearts and shepherding God’s people. Complaining actually destroys you. Thanksgiving, praise and worship is the antidote to complaining and being negative. Jesus never complained even once and He dwells in us by His Holy Spirit. Let’s be filled with the Spirit, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the Name of our Lord Jesus. Amen!
