“Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.”
Luke 6:42 KJV
“How could you say to your friend, ‘Here, let me show you where you’re wrong,’ when you are guilty of even more than he? You are overly critical, splitting hairs and being a hypocrite! You must acknowledge your own blind spots and deal with them before you will be able to deal with the blind spot of your friend.” Jesus teaches that our blind spots prevent us from accurately evaluating the needs of others. This is plainly a hypocrisy issue. We know that Jesus took every sin of humanity and nailed it to the Cross forgiving everyone, thereby destroying the works of the enemy. If we do not realise that we ourselves are forgiven and value this forgiveness on a personal level, we will find fault with others and consider ourselves superior to others, making our hypocrisy even worse. Better to be humble and ask the help of the Holy Spirit to assess the needs of others and bring this terrific Gospel of forgiveness into others’ lives so they too can walk in freedom. Amen!
